长寿经开区是2010年经国务院批准设立的国家级经济技术开发区,规划管理面积80平方公里(其中国务院批准面积10平方公里,长寿区委托代管70平方公里),重点发展钢铁冶金、装备制造、新材料新能源、生物医药、电子信息五大产业,是全国循环经济试点园区、国家新型工业化产业示范基地、国家知识产权示范园区、国家新材料高新技术产业化示范基地,国家级产业废物综合利用项目示范基地、中国钢产业示范基地、中国十大最佳投资环境园区。
长寿经开区已累计开发面积40平方公里,引进国内外知名企业320户(其中:世界500强18户,跨国公司36户,上市公司56户),合同引资超3310亿元,完成固定资产投资2171亿元(其中基础设施投资222亿元),建成投产企业210户(其中规上企业163户)。2017年完成规上工业产值840亿元,增长18.6%,完成固定资产投资298亿元,到位内资163.5亿元,税收25.12亿元,利润32亿元,实际利用外资1.5亿美元,进出口额72亿元人民币,合同引资310亿元。
未来,长寿经开区将坚持创新、协调、绿色、开放、共享发展理念,突出创新驱动发展、转型升级发展、绿色和谐发展,着力推动主导产业转型升级、新兴产业发展壮大,到2020年,累计开发面积达60平方公里,工业总产值达2000亿元以上,实现税收50亿元以上,建成重庆工业高地和国家一流经济技术开发区。

负责制定经开区安全生产规划;负责危险化学品、工矿商贸等行业安全生产日常监督管理;负责监督检查新建、改建、扩建工程项目安全设施与主体工程“三同时”落实情况;负责授权范围内有关安全生产和职业健康行政许可管理工作;负责组织指挥和协调安全生产应急救援工作。
(七)环境保护局
负责编制、实施经开区环境保护规划和年度计划;负责经开区环境保护监督管理;负责组织开展经开区重大经济和技术政策、发展规划以及建设项目环境影响评价;负责环境保护“三同时”行政审批和监督管理;负责环境污染防治的监督管理,开展生态环境质量调查,监督对生态环境有影响的自然资源开发利用活动、生态环境建设工作;负责开展环境质量监测、污染源监督性监测和突发性环境污染应急监测;组织实施环境保护目标责任制、城市环境综合整治定量考核、排污申报、排污收费、限期治理制度;负责环境污染与生态破坏事故的应急指挥和调度工作。
(八)土地储备中心
为优化经开区内土地资源配置和合理利用土地提供服务,负责实施经开区土地收购、整治、储备、出让等具体工作。
(九)应急管理中心
负责经开区环保安全风险防范体系的建立和管理;负责重大危险源和环境敏感点的全天候监控;负责安全、环保、消防、化学救援等紧急状态下的应急指挥工作。
(十)集团公司
负责长寿经开区范围内的土地开发、土地综合整治及基础设施建设、公用工程配套;负责房地产开发经营、房屋租赁、物业服务、货物仓储及配送;承担经开区现代产业体系构建和项目服务等的投资、开发、建设、管理及资本运作;承担经开区管理,为经开区企业和机构提供服务。
